Keypoint Law welcomes Karen Fairbairn to the firm as a Consulting Principal, based in Sydney.

Karen has over 30 years’ experience as a lawyer, principally in banking and commercial law, with expert knowledge of the Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA) particularly that relating to insolvency practice and securities enforcement.

Prior to joining Keypoint, Karen was a Partner of Piper Alderman and, before this, a Partner of HWL Ebsworth for 8 years. Her work involves domestic and international finance transactions, distressed debt transactions, regulation, restructuring, corporate governance, company secretarial matters, commercial agreements and specialist services in regard to the Personal Property Securities Act.

During her career, Karen held senior roles at various large firms, including Mallesons and Freehills, and also spent two years in a Legal Counsel role for Westpac Banking Corporation, implementing changes to the Bank’s business processes and legal documentation required as a result of the commencement of the PPSA.

Karen is a member of the Banking & Financial Services Law Association and the Women Lawyers Association of NSW.
