Keypoint Law is pleased to announce the appointment of leading private wealth lawyer Vik Sundar as a Consulting Principal and Head of Strategy, Risk and Growth.

Vik is regarded as one of Australia’s foremost experts in testamentary trusts and is the author of leading texts on the subject, including the fourth edition of Testamentary Trusts: Strategies and Precedents (LexisNexis, 2024). His expertise has been recognised through numerous industry accolades, including being named a finalist in the Partner of the Year Awards (Wills & Estates category).

Vik brings more than 15 years’ experience advising high-net-worth individuals, families, business owners and professional services firms on complex estate planning, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), asset protection, commercial and tax matters. He is widely recognised for his practical, solutions-focused approach and his ability to deliver commercially effective outcomes in technically complex areas.

In addition to his role as a Consulting Principal, Vik will also join Keypoint Law’s management team, where he will contribute to key initiatives across risk, strategy and growth.

“We are delighted to welcome Vik to Keypoint,” said Warren Kalinko, Chief Executive Officer of Keypoint Law. “His depth of expertise in private wealth, combined with his commercial insight and reputation in the market, will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our firm.”

Vik joins Keypoint Law from his role as Founder and Managing Director of boutique firm, Clear Law. Prior to founding Clear Law, Vik was the Managing Director of Chamberlains, where he led significant growth and operational development initiatives, including the expansion of key practice areas and the enhancement of practice systems and technology to support scalable service delivery.

In addition to his practice, he has made a significant contribution to the legal profession through a number of leadership roles, including serving as current President of the ACT Law Society and a Director of the Law Council of Australia.

Commenting on his appointment, Vik stated:

“After significant consideration of the legal market and alternatives, I joined Keypoint Law because I truly believe that the traditional law firm model no longer reflects how legal services should be delivered. Keypoint’s innovative approach offers a smarter, more flexible model that delivers legal services in a way that suits both clients and practitioners.

I am thrilled to be joining Keypoint Law as a Consulting Principal and as the Head of Strategy, Risk and Growth and working closely with our Chief Executive Officer, Warren, on the growth of the firm.”

Keypoint Law continues to expand its national footprint, with Vik’s appointment marking the firm’s 5th partner-level joining since January.
