Area: M&A
Key players: The Chilli Marketing team was led by its in-house Legal Director, Andy Curtis, working with Douglas Linnette of Keypoint Law, Sydney, in relation to the Australian components, with Addleshaw Goddard LLP advising on the UK aspects.
Deal significance: Chilli Marketing launched Rekorderlig Cider in Australia in 2009 (as global distribution rights holder for the Swedish owned brand), later cementing a 5-year distribution and marketing tie-up with Coca-Cola Amatil. Rekorderlig is now the leading flavoured cider in Australia and this deal sees Coca-Cola Amatil assume full responsibility for promotion and marketing of the brand in Australia.
Douglas Linnette, Chilli’s Australian lawyer, said:
“I’ve been delighted to support Chilli Marketing since their launch of Rekorderlig in Australia – we congratulate them on this transaction.”
