Keypoint Law has welcomed five partner-level lawyers to the firm. The appointment of Mathew Kaley, Mike Hayes, Joanne Grant, Nick Karolidis and Andrew Whittingham will add to the expertise and experience of the firm’s Financial Services, Insurance, Insolvency & Restructuring, Litigation, Charities & Not-for-Profit, Education, Property, Taxation, Corporate and M&A  practices.

The new Consulting Principal appointments are:

Mathew Kaley – Financial Services and Insurance (Sydney)

Mathew Kaley is a senior financial services lawyer with over 25 years’ experience advising some of Australia’s largest insurance companies and other leading financial institutions on complex regulatory and commercial matters. His expertise spans the full spectrum of financial services law, including governance, corporate advisory, licensing, mergers and acquisitions, distribution arrangements, product development, marketing, compliance and regulatory disputes. Mathew joined Keypoint from national law firm, McCabes, where he led the Financial Services Practice.

Mike Hayes – Insolvency & Restructuring and Litigation (Adelaide)

Mike Hayes is a nationally recognised commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer with a strong focus on insolvency, recoveries and restructuring. He is sought after for his ability to guide clients through complex disputes with clarity, strategic insight and commercially grounded advice. As President of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA), Mike plays a key role in shaping best practice and policy within the profession.  Mike joined Keypoint from Piper Alderman.

Joanne Grant – Charities & Not-for-profit, Education, Property & Commercial (Sydney)

Joanne’s practice focuses on advising Catholic church entities, religious orders, Anglican and other denominational bodies, as well as education organisations. She was previously a Partner at Holman Webb and, before that, served as General Counsel for Sydney Catholic Schools, overseeing the legal needs of 147 Catholic primary and secondary schools across the Archdiocese of Sydney.

Nick Karolidis – Taxation and Property (Melbourne)

Nick is a senior commercial lawyer and qualified accountant with more than 15 years’ experience advising clients on complex tax, property and business law matters. He joined Keypoint Law after running his own boutique firm for nearly a decade. Before that, he built his career with KPMG and Gadens. Nick has earned more than 130 five-star Google reviews from clients over the past 10 years.

Andrew Whittingham – Corporate and M&A (Sydney)

Andrew is a corporate lawyer with extensive experience advising on complex public and private M&A, equity capital markets and corporate restructuring transactions.  Andrew also regularly advises on commercial contracts, employee incentive plans, the application of ASX Listing Rules, foreign investment regulations and general corporate advisory matters. Andrew joins Keypoint Law from K&L Gates, where he was Special Counsel. He was previously a Partner at Gillis Delaney and has also held senior roles at Macpherson Kelley, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Gilbert + Tobin.
