Keypoint Law is delighted to announce that it has bolstered its corporate offering with the appointment of two senior lawyers. Doug Robertson and James Halliday have joined Keypoint as Consulting Principals, based in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.

Doug Robertson – Corporate, Melbourne

Doug Robertson has 30 years’ experience advising on corporate and commercial law for a broad range of clients, including private and public companies and trusts and Government bodies. In addition to his legal work, Doug has extensive experience advising on governance and compliance.

Prior to joining Keypoint, Doug was an Executive Director and team leader of the Corporate & Commercial team at EY Law, and before that, was a partner at leading firms Gadens, Piper Alderman and Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills).

Doug has been recognised by ‘Best Lawyers in Australia’ for his expertise in Agriculture & Rural Affairs Law and Corporate Law.

James Halliday – Corporate, Sydney

James Halliday is a corporate and commercial lawyer with over 20 years’ experience acting for Australian and multinational corporations on public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other related transactions. He has an additional specialisation in the telecommunications area, and is co‑author of a book on the Australian communications industry, ‘White Noise’.

James joins Keypoint from Baker McKenzie, where he was a partner for 12 years.  Prior to joining Bakers, James was Corporate Counsel at Singtel Optus.

James has been recognised by Chambers and Partners and has been awarded the Lexology ‘Client Choice’ Award in the Australian mergers and acquisitions category, as voted by senior corporate counsel.

The appointments come after Keypoint welcomed construction and commercial litigation specialist Roland Burt in Melbourne last month.
